The Sixth Annual Silk Road Conference held in Chicago on Wednesday, July 20th was a great success. Organized by the Central Asian Productivity Research Center, the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry – Midwest, the World Trade Center Chicago - Illinois, and NIU - College of Business, the conference focused on the recent developments across Central Asia and the Silk Road region and highlighted the region’s expanding economic development, its growing business opportunities and its importance to the global economy.
The conference was sponsored by the Illinois Institute of Technology, Hacettepe University - Dept. of Business Administration (Turkey), Northern Illinois University - College of Business, Turkish Airlines, Genel Enerji A.S. (Turkey), and HOK (Chicago). The topics included the importance of the Caspian Basin and Energy Resources, Turkey’s expanding role as a Global Energy Hub, timely reports from Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Romania, as well as panel discussions on the financial, economic, and legal aspects of the region.We thank our organizing partners, sponsors, speakers and participants for their contribution to the success of the conference.
